Boyne Valley Showcase 2023

Thank you to all those who came along to enjoy the displays, stalls, entertainment and other activities. You made the event successful. The Showcase was sponsored by Gladstone Regional Council through the Ignite Event Fund. A special thanks goes to the Gladstone Regional Council for this assistance with providing high quality entertainment and catering.
Overview of the Boyne Valley Showcase, 2021. The Boyne Valley Showcase, 2021, conducted by the Community Shed Boyne Valley, was a showcase of the activities and skills of the Boyne Valley, Central Queensland. This included businesses, community groups, schools, arts and crafts, music, and collections. Market stalls, food vans and BBQ stalls added to the event. The displays were interesting and informative, both inside and outside of the Nagoorin Hall. Congratulations, for the effort put in to providing excellent displays, to all participants.
The opening of the event was well attended with the opening speech presented by Mayor Matt Burnett. We were entertained by the amazing Jack Viljoen and Sand. Free nibbles and drinks were made available as well as food for purchase from the Boyne Valley Lions Club, Lyndal's Kitchen and Terry's Icecream and Coffee Van.
On Saturday, Tyrone's Circus attracted participants for a workshop and a small crowd gathered for the afternoon performance. Music on Saturday morning was provided by talented local, Brett Benecke. Kahn Goodluck wowed attendees with his music on Saturday afternoon and Timo Koivunen did the same for the Sunday morning session. At the Discovery Centre, the open mic training session attracted a few attendees. This was followed by a Saturday evening BBQ and a very well supported musical show by Clyde Cameron, Rob Hopkins, Wayne Dunnett, Timo Koivunen and Jan Koivunen plus attendees of the open mic training session.
Brett Benecke is hoping to get local Boyne Valley musicians together for jam sessions to prepare for next year's showcase and other events.
Other businesses/activities/events that supported the showcase were the Historical Cottage with an open day, the Boyne Valley CWA with a successful session of Hoy, the Garden Market who ran out of some of their product lines, Kirsten's Cottage (Gift & Coffee shop) who was run off their feet.
Overall, the event was well supported with attendees coming from near and far. Visitor complements were received and participants have already expressed interest in next year's event. We look forward to welcoming people to another successful showcase next year.
