A short drive south of Many Peaks is a delightful park - at the Many Peaks Railway Dam which features the Frank & Barb McKee Lookout. The water in this dam is currently very low but it is still a pretty spot. Composting toilets are available (at least I think they are composting type). There is a covered picnic area & wood fired barbecue (probably best to bring own wood & check fire conditions). https://gladstonenews.com.au/frank-barb-mckee-lookout/

Logging trucks travel the Gladstone-Monto Road from the pine plantations near Kalpower.
The old railway line has been pulled up through most of the valley & the BBIRT group (Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail) have lobbied successfully for most if not all of this rail corridor to become a rail trail with some bridges, the tunnels & other features to be saved. This is an ongoing project. https://boyneburnettinlandrailtrail.org.au/https://www.facebook.com/boyneburnettinlandrailtrail/
There is a gold mine near Nagoorin - the Norton Gold Mine which is currently being re-developed. Many Peaks was once a gold & copper mining centre.
